Figure of the Week #67 Pharaoh Rameses II

I'm so geeked for the coming release of "Exodus: Gods and Kings" on December 12th that I dug into my collection of Ancient Egyptian figures to pull out this one Pharaoh Rameses II. This is a 54mm plastic figure produced in Japan as part of the Historical Museum Collection a few years back. These were sold in unmarked boxes so you never knew which figure of series (usually 12 figures per) you would get. This figures were only produced in one production run. Due to Japanese taxes companies would destroy the molds before one year of production so they didn't have to pay taxes on the molds and equipment. So in honor of the new film Rameses get his immortality again as our FOTW.

The epic adventure "Exodus: Gods and Kings" is the story of one man's daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state-of-the-art visual effects and 3D immersion, Academy Award®-nominated director Ridley Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses, setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues. Starring Academy Award® winners Christian Bale and Ben Kingsley along with Emmy® winner Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad"), Academy Award®-nominee Sigourney Weaver and Joel Edgerton ("The Great Gatsby"), "Exodus: Gods and Kings" opens in theaters nationwide on December 12, 2014.
