Figure of the Week #57: The First Toy Soldier

My youngest daughter recently turned 16, is halfway through high school and becoming quite the young lady. After the usual thoughts about where do the years go I looked over and saw one of the greatest presents I ever received,  Sitting there in all its pink glory was the toy soldier she made for me in preschool. Now I know that when she made this she probably had no real concept of what a soldier was let alone a toy soldier but she spent many an hour looking in the display cases of my collection processing the little treasure within. Her interpretation of "daddy's toys", this little clothespin figure standing at attention means more to me then any figure I have bought, sold or collected over all these years. Not only worthy of MichToy's Figure of the Week but in my book it is the figure of a lifetime.

Forever Young by Bob Dylan
May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young

May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young
